Royal Palm Wine & Tapas is officially decked out in even more Philip Bennett Walker art!
Remember earlier this year when the team painted a mural of Philip's signature Bird of Paradise piece on the exterior of the building? While the piece itself was complete, it's placed on the longer side of the building and Philip had always planned to add to it. Well, this week Philip and team recently completed the entire side of the building, filling in the empty space and complimenting the tropical look with a crane and more lush foliage. The bright colors accented by Philip's characteristic subtraction technique are sure to captivate your attention and make you feel as if you're walking among an island oasis.
Philip always wanted to finish this special job, as he helped open Royal Palm with good friend and owner Kori, and worked there as General Manager for several years before becoming a full time independent artist. Royal Palm Wine and Tapas has always been like a second home, and the amazing staff our extended work family.
The timing worked out perfectly with the cool weather (thank goodness!) and the fact that Philip's wife, Elizabeth, and myself were available to help Philip at different stages of the mural process.
Not to mention, this was done just in time for Royal Palm Wine Fest & 10th Anniversary party this Saturday, November 6th!
This grand wine tasting event is from 2-5pm and held to benefit the Child Cancer Fund, and Philip and Elizabeth have always been a part of it since the very first Wine Fest. Each year Philip and Elizabeth set up her jewelry pop up display, and donate a portion of her sales to the charity, as well as any art sales from Philip.
Since this event is outdoors, there will be plenty of time and space to get up close and personal with the newly updated mural, take pictures with it and meet Philip -if you aren't already friends with the man, the myth and the legend himself!
More event details for Royal Palm Wine Fest can be found on their Facebook page.
If you can’t make it this Saturday be sure to plan date night, a friends dinner or just a solo treat yourself night to check out the mural and more art by Philip Walker inside the restaurant itself!
