Punk Rock and Paint Brushes is a collective group of artists who share the love for music, creativity and making a positive difference.
Philip Bennett Walker is excited to announce he will be showing his art with this group yet again, this year at Milwaukee Summerfest, three weekends in a row:
June 22-24th, June 29- July 1st, and July 6-8th. It’s an honor for him to showcase his works alongside many other talented artists including drummer for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Chad Smith.
Chad’s new to the lineup this year, and causing breaking headlines. For good reason, of course.
We’d like to thank Emily of Punk Rock and Paint Brushes for including Philips artwork show after show, and selling out every time!
Philip and his works have been included in various well known shows and festivals such as Rockville in Daytona Beach, FL and Bourbon and Beyond in Louisville, KY.
Getting the feel for the genre and general crowd he’s appealing to, Philip curates each collection of limited edition, signed and numbered prints specifically for each crowd.
Being able to attend the shows (at least when he can sneak away from his studio) and connect with the crowd and music is also important to Philip, and also inspires him to create new Original pieces!
If you’re even slightly familiar with any of his works, you know he’s already got quite a collection of familiar faces in prints and originals such as Willie Nelson, Madonna, Tupac, The Beatles, Phish and more!
In fact, Philips works can pretty much be categorized into portraits of musicians and actors that have played prominent roles in cult classics in his upbringing. His work also is very much inspired by all things Florida, and when the two are combined, magic happens. Just take his latest piece of Duane Allman, for example.
Music is an outlet, similar to any other artistic medium, that connects people across the world. Nothing makes Philip happier than sharing his own art in a setting that inspires him and has held a place in his heart and his artistic journey for years.
