The secret is officially out! The Elizabeth Sarah Collections Gallery is getting a new home in Atlantic Beach, Florida.
While this move came as a bit of a surprise and happened very quickly, we are so excited to share the details with you. If you’ve been following along, this will be the fifth expansion for Elizabeth and Philip Walker, and they don’t plan to scale back any time soon. This will be one of several blogs to keep you all in the know and updated with behind the scenes, projects, probably some weird dance moves, and of course the grand opening, so be sure to stay tuned.
It actually all started three years ago, before the Walkers eventually built out their home studio, named as an homage to her family’s legacy, the Aquilla Studio.
Elizabeth and Philip had a lead on a shop that was going to be available soon, and the location was prime real estate. After soul searching, negotiations, and drawing up business projections, the new space just wasn’t in the cards, at the time at least. This was just as COVID-19 was ramping up as well, and no one could predict how the economy could shift, or how life would be soon flipped upside down.
Of course, the shop seemed perfect but things like this never let Elizabeth and Philip down. Some things just aren’t meant to be in a certain time and place. So they quickly re-strategized and within two weeks, turned their already dreamy backyard and home offices into a large studio space. The Aquilla Studio housed all of Elizabeth Sarah Collections inventory as well as a space for Philip to paint, plus an admin and shipping station. Seriously, they work fast.
The three of us worked here for about a year, while pumping up our online and social media presence, as well as hosting more local and regional pop ups and art shows.
However it wasn’t long before we outgrew this space and moved into our first brick and mortar in the heart of Jacksonville Beach in September 2021. We are beyond grateful for the year we spent in Jax Beach and for all of the lessons, growth and hard work that got us there. If you’ve been to the gallery, you can certainly feel the love that has gone into curating this unique shopping experience.
As this past August was approaching and it was time to sign a new lease, Elizabeth just had a feeling. And if you know her, trusting her gut is key to almost every decision she’s made. And it was right (duh). She held off and heard about the same location becoming available that the team had checked out years prior.
In addition to the new location being double the size, all of the accommodations suited our team perfectly. From the layout to the large office in back, location and AWESOME neighbors (shoutout Gnarbucha, Reve, Bones Pizza and Grey Matter!) they knew they truly couldn’t pass this up again.
As usual, the Walkers put their own touch on each project, and this one is no different. Since we don’t plan on going anywhere for a long time, this new gallery space will be decked out with every detail that meets your shopping needs.
With high ceilings and gallery lighting, Philips art will be complimented by Elizabeth’s jewelry displays and mid century modern furniture and decor, styled by the amazing Chris and Julie Childers from House and Haven and Curations Furniture & Staging Co.
Elizabeth’s full and complete inventory will be available, along with new originals and giclee prints by Philip. Philip will now
have double the space to produce and exhibit his original artwork and giclee prints. To have more representation in the up and coming arts district is a dream come true.
Our communal production space, administrative and shipping and receiving area will be towards the back of the gallery, and beyond that, a brand new back deck perfect for sunset sessions and enjoying a beverage while you shop with us!
While renovations are currently in progress, the new Elizabeth Sarah Collections Gallery is expected to open September 30th, 2022.
In the meantime you can still shop the current gallery Monday-Friday from 11-5pm and Saturdays 11-4pm at 1003 3rd Street North Jacksonville Beach FL 32250. We also are happy to accommodate and honor personal shopping appointments for those who cannot make it during regular business hours.
The future in our new Atlantic Beach location is looking bright, and we hope you enjoy the journey with us!
