This is one of the few remaining images of the Original Aquilla Lodge and Main Dining Hall that once stood in Powers Lake Wisconsin. This building was the nucleus of the summer resort. It had it all.Dining, dancing , ice cream, bowling alleys, horse stables, a fly in when airplanes came about. The place even had a 9 hole golf course. It also had a roller skating Grandma that would teach you to skate if you were lucky. The Summer Lodges of the past that encompassed that Norman Rockwellian ideology of family togetherness just doesn’t seem to exist anymore, but when it did, The Aquilla Resort sat proudly atop the list of the finest. These pictures brought that vibe into our home. The Aquilla has been gone for years, impossible for anyone to have saved it by the time it was worth saving. A legendary ghostly absence for the last few generations of our family that grew up without it. Discovering, restoring, and recreating these pictures have brought a since of pride back to our family and hopefully can bring back some good memories for yours as well. We welcome any and all stories!!
