Earlier this year Philip had the amazing opportunity to show his work in the Aviation Administration Building at our International Airport here in Jacksonville, Florida.
His eight piece collection was shown January - March and received great feedback and enthusiasm from locals and visitors alike. The next phase of this art installation is to exhibit a larger and more comprehensive series at the renowned Haskell Gallery from July 1 - September 30, 2021.
Philip has put together a cohesive collection of both new Original paintings and limited edition, signed and numbered Giclee Prints, that narrate his Floridian upbringing combined with Mother Nature, and the adventure that awaits us. He's also known for his love of music and cinema, and seamlessly phased in several of his favorite artists and characters within this display.
Staying true to his original style, you'll find his concept of subtraction and both negative and positive spaces encompassing his designs, as well as pops of color that make the canvas come alive.
Philip is especially appreciative and thankful to Jen Jones Murray, Director for the City of Jacksonville Public Arts Program and Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville, for putting all of this together.
Nothing compares to the feeling of having his artwork in an esteemed gallery in our own international airport, and even the minor setbacks like forgetting extra screws never held the team back.
From deciding on which pieces to bring, packing a U-Haul which was promptly sniffed by a police K-9 (weirdly, this is the first time that's happened), to doing a final walk through to make sure each piece is perfectly level, this experience is one Philip was looking forward to for the past year.
For those that love to jet set, travel for work, or just enjoy spending an afternoon inspired by art, this is a must see while the display is running.
